Visit with our Neighbors

This evening I had a wild hair and decided to sit outside (yes, in TX) and watch the kids ride bikes. No sooner than I opened the garage here comes Ryan and his grandmother, Mrs. Parker. I pulled her up a chair and the kids played and played. She is a delightful woman so full of life and energy even at 80! She is raising her great-grandchildren ages 14 and 10. She told me of Ryan's near death experience that happened on May 8. He was riding the special needs bus (he is autistic) and a child became violent and kicked him in the head. The driver alerted Mrs. Parker of the incident but didn't realize the severity of the injuries. By the time he made into the house and sat down, he collapsed. The ambulance came but didn't take precaution and did not transport him to the hospital. The family took Ryan to Methodist Hospital on 249 and they transported him to Texas Childrens. He had a major concusion and bruising of the brain. He slipped into a coma. The family called KSBJ and asked everyone to pray for Ryan. He was unconscious for 24 hours but finally came to. Praise the Lord. Mrs. Parker prayed to the Lord and asked Him to restore Ryan's life. He did!! He is fine now and his old self. We both testified of God's power to answer prayers. She then shared with me her son's mission. He and his wife are Baptist missionaries about to go to Canada for 3 years. They have a similar story to Albert and I. I was so humbled to know that the Lord has the Parkers in His hand. God has blessed us so much with the Parkers, Simpsons, Lackeys and the Turners. They are wonderful neighbors and friends.
